RE Conferences

There are two fantastic RE conferences that take place locally each year: the annual SACRE regional RE conference in Term 3; and the Learn Teach Lead RE Area 2 Annual Conference in Term 6.

Taking place each year in Term 3, the annual SACRE regional RE conference provides a fantastic opportunity for teachers of RE to reflect on practice and connect with colleagues.

RE Conference 2025: Inspiring Curiosity

The next conference is entitled ‘Inspiring Curiosity’, and we will be joined by keynote speaker Gillian Georgiou, Diocesan RE Adviser for Lincoln Diocesan Board of Education.

Humans are naturally curious beings – we continually seek to understand ourselves, others, the world around us and intangible concepts like God, truth and justice. Worldviews – religious and non-religious – are just such ways of seeing, understanding and being in the world. Schools and academies across the country are beginning to investigate what it might look like to take a religion and worldviews approach to RE. In this keynote session, Gillian Georgiou will explore the ways in which our subject is developing and share practical examples of what this might look like in practice.

WHEN: Friday 7th February 2025, 9:30-3:30

WHERE: Engineers House, Bristol, BS8 3NB

COST: FREE for teachers in South Gloucestershire schools; £120 per delegate, £75 for second delegate from the same school
